Emily and Tyler--what can I say about these two? They got married last April on a happy, beautiful day. I've known Emily since I was a wee little Freshman at Baylor. Since that fateful day, she's never stopped pouring into me--loving and fighting for me. I'm so grateful for her! It's been so cool to see her and Tyler serve and love people during their time living and working in Waco. In August these two are moving to an area near Nepal to do missions. I'm going to miss them dearly, but I'm so inspired by their trust and love for God!
I've gotten the pleasure to live with this dreamer for the past year. Carissa is a gem. She has the most gentle presence and cares deeply for her friends and family.
She dreams to end injustices, and to see people filled with hope. While in Waco, Carissa was an ambassador for the coolest jewelry company: Noonday. The company helps create business opportunities for women in the developing world. And In a few weeks Carissa is moving to Manila, the capital of the Philippines! For a year she will be living in Manila and interning with International Justice Mission. I'm inspired by Carissa's courage and her desire to follow God.
I met Elisa my freshman year at Baylor. Since then, we've worked at camp together, shared a room, road-tripped, camped and ran the Bearathon together.
Elisa is generous, patient and wonderful to talk with. I've grown to appreciate the fact that she's my complete opposite, and through our friendship I've learned a lot about myself and others. I appreciate the fact that she takes time to think before she speaks, loves people through quiet acts of service, and is faithful to always keep her word. It's been an honor to share life with her.
A few days ago Elisa left Waco and will be doing a four year International Development graduate school program at Denver University. I'm going to miss going knowing I can ride my bike to Lula Jane's with her, but I'm so proud of her for pursing the dreams God has given her.
Sarah is energetic, hilarious and doesn't take herself too seriously. On the norm, Sarah can be found juggling a million different responsibilities, slightly in shambles, and laughing the whole time. Grateful I'm going to be in Waco with her next year :)
Paige and I met in 7th grade and have been friends ever since. We've experienced middle school, high school and college together; shared awkward stages and supported each other through life's ups and downs. She's kind of like my third sister--especially because we steal each other's clothes and food and we show up in each other's rooms unannounced. Paige is the kindest, most quirky and adorable souls you will ever meet. For example, one of her favorite places to eat is Luby's and she's one of the few people I know who would pass up a real meal for a bowl of Blue Bell any day.
Also, shout out to Paige for being my little model through my years of photography. Check out the high school senior portraits I took for her four years ago: here and here We've both grown a lot since then. ;)
